The Service Delivery Environment or some of its components can be developed internally, acquired from external sources
or client’s external sources. A Service Delivery Environment may be sourced from several providers:
-
Client
-
Capgemini
-
Capgemini partners (alliances)
-
Client partners
-
External providers.
Selecting the appropriate Service Delivery Environment and the associated suppliers to provide the necessary items is
often a trade-off between several factors:
-
Performance - includes timely interoperable communications, security, and maintainability
-
Costs - includes capital outlays, training, support structure, disassembly, and disposal of existing environments,
as well as operation and maintenance of the environment
-
Risks - includes potential for disruptions of the services.
Any Service Delivery Environment acquired must include provisions for ongoing maintenance and operational support. The
Service Delivery Environment Supervision Manager must check that all Service Delivery Environment costs are properly
budgeted and are fully integrated within the financial forecast. Additionally, the Service Delivery Environment
Supervision Manager must confirm that all required items must be available on the required dates.
